The story behind a calling—and the name that became a mission.
When I was 3 years old, living in Italy with my family – I saw my first horse. A black pony pulling an apple cart. Even from my upstairs balcony, I felt an inextricable bond that has lasted a lifetime.
I have owned, trained and shown my own horse and others in my early adult years. Life happened and I allowed time and tide to pull me away.
In my first career, I was a Physical Therapist. I loved the healing nature of this work, but the toxic work environments and the sad stories of people’s failing health took a toll on me. I lasted about 27 years.
I have traversed that career and one in Real Estate (since 2001).
For years, I felt longing and discontent and deep pain but couldn’t put my finger on it, nor were the strategies I learned to “cope” helping me.
The pain kept me stuck, and I knew I was not at full potential. Despite LOTS of trainings, books, functions and therapy – I constantly bumped up against a glass wall. I did not feel I was “at my best.” I became a Coach through the Brave Thinking Institute – which was AMAZING…yet I was not listening to my body and how it was feeling. Something was still “off.” I could inspire others but not myself so much.
Long story short, I am back to horses.
Through a very circuitous route, I found my way to Touched By A Horse and the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® (EGCM). In this very intensive, hands-on program, I had to – among other requirements - do my “personal work” in order to graduate. I have experienced more healing and transformation in this method – in a shorter time than any other method.
And now, I am spreading my wings to combine Horses and Healing with Living A life You Would LOVE. I wanted a business name that would incorporate BOTH intentions and resonate with my calling…
Twenty years ago, I wrote the poem “Unbridled” because of the longing and discontent I felt and how I WANTED to feel.
So, now here we are – and Greatness UnBridled is my business. I truly believe you are not here by accident. And just so YOU know: Your Greatness Lies Within You!
